Suarasama is led by composer Irwansyah Harahap. Many of the songs feature female singer Rianthony Hutajulu. This group performed a number of times around Wellington. The band consisted of Harahap and Hutajulu who are Indonesian ethnomusicologists, a number of students who played the cymbals , and three absolutely remarkable older musicians...the flute and reed player was an incredible musician, as were the kacapi players.
